Hi! Today I’m talking about sugar: what it’s doing to your body, where it’s creeping into your diet, how much we should be aiming for, and then ten tips for how to reduce your sugar intake.
This is such an important topic because eating too much sugar is behind so many of today’s chronic diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, Alzheimer’s and even some cancers.
And yet, it’s so hard to avoid because it’s everywhere!
When you get processed sugar out of your diet you’ll feel so much better: more energy, less puffiness, less inflammation, no more afternoon slumps and even a few pounds lighter on the scale. Plus, an enhanced immune system, improved gut microbiome, and a reduced risk for all the diseases mentioned above.

Hi friend! I don't know about you but it seems to me that Easter is fast becoming, if it hasn't already become, the chocolate holiday. At least that's the impression you get when you walk into any supermarket at the time I'm recording this episode.
Whole aisles are dedicated to chocolate eggs of various sizes and flavours, mini eggs for Easter hunts, chocolate shaped bunnies and even chocolate bunny lollies.
So I thought maybe it's a good opportunity to talk a little bit about chocolate! I did mention that cacao was one of my favourite foods back in episode 28, but I kind of feel that it deserves a whole episode in its own right, don't you? I hear a resounding yes from all my female readers!

Hi!
Today on the podcast I’m chatting with Dr Orlena Kerek. Dr Orlena trained as a pediatric doctor in the UK. She now works as a health coach, teaching busy women to lead their most healthy life in a way they love, so they can feel amazing, lead a long life and teach their kids healthy living habits.
Like me, Dr Orlena also has four kids, so we start off by talking about picky eaters. We then chat about the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet, and what is the Mediterranean diet, before moving on to talking about the importance of building healthy habits. Dr Orlena has a book coming out on 27th April 2022 called ‘Building Simple Habits to a Healthy Me” so we chat about that. And we also talk about the importance of getting support and accountability from a health coach, and how investing financially in your health in this way can seem like a big step but it might very well turn out to be one of the best things you’ve ever done for yourself!
